Call for Oral Sessions & Poster Abstracts

8th Biennial International Female Athlete Conference

Submissions Due October 1, 2026

The FAC Scientific Committee welcomes submissions that advance the health, well-being, and performance of female athletes. We invite proposals for oral sessions, including research symposia, clinical symposia, panel discussions, and other educational formats, as well as poster abstracts presenting original research.

FAC brings together a multidisciplinary audience of researchers, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, psychologists, social workers, athletic trainers, dietitians, physical therapists, policymakers, coaches, athletes, parents, and other professionals committed to female athlete health and performance. We encourage submissions from all individuals working to improve the health and performance of female athletes across all ages, competitive levels, and sporting environments.

Session Types

Oral Sessions (20 or 40 minutes)

  • Podium Presentation (maximum of 2 presenters)
  • Panel Discussion (maximum of 5 presenters)
  • All oral sessions must be presented in person

Poster Abstracts

  • Must present original research findings
  • Submitters may request in-person or virtual poster presentation
  • Only one presenting author is permitted per poster

Financial Assistance

A core tenet of FAC is advancing and disseminating clinical and research knowledge to support female athletes worldwide. In line with this mission, we are pleased to offer financial assistance opportunities for presenters at FAC 2027.

Applicants may request a registration scholarship, travel assistance, or both as part of the submission process. Those applying for financial assistance will be asked to provide a brief statement describing their interest in attending and presenting at the conference, as well as their need for support, at the time of submission.

Please note: requests for financial assistance will not be considered during scientific review and will not influence acceptance decisions.

Submission Guidelines

Oral Session Submission Guidelines ×

Each proposal should include:

  • Title (maximum 15 words)
  • Proposal (maximum 2,500 characters, excluding title, presenter information, references, disclosures, and attachments)
  • Up to one figure or table attachment

During submission, submitters will also be asked to provide:

  • Three learning objectives
  • Three true/false or multiple choice questions
  • Presenter headshot (minimum 300 × 300 pixels) for all presenters
  • Brief biography (200 words or fewer) for all presenters
  • Curriculum Vitae for all presenters

The FAC Scientific Committee does not require a specific proposal structure. Submitters may organize their proposal in the format that best represents their session.

Submitted proposals must be original work and may not have been previously published or accepted for publication in substantially the same form at the time of submission. Accepted proposals may be included in conference materials and proceedings.

Oral Session Key Information +

Accepted oral sessions will be scheduled as either 20-minute or 40-minute presentations at the discretion of the FAC Scientific Committee.

Additional requirements include:

  • Sessions will be recorded and available on demand through September 30, 2027; by submitting an oral session, presenters agree to the recording and distribution of their presentation.
  • Presenters are responsible for conference registration, travel, lodging, and related expenses.
  • If the presenting author is unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances, an alternate presenter may be approved by the FAC Scientific Committee. Please email info@femaleathleteconference.com as soon as possible to inquire.

Awards will be presented for oral presentations.

If your oral session submission is not accepted, you will automatically be considered for a poster presentation unless you opt out during the submission process.

Poster Abstract Submission Guidelines +

Abstracts must be written in English and may not exceed 2,500 characters (excluding title, presenter information, references, disclosures, and attachments).

Poster abstracts should follow the structured format below:

  • Background
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion

Submitters may upload one figure or table. Text contained within figures and tables does not count toward the character limit.

In addition to the abstract, submitters must provide:

  • Presenter headshot (minimum 300 × 300 pixels)
  • Curriculum Vitae

Submitted abstracts must be original work and may not have been previously published or accepted for publication in substantially the same form at the time of submission. Accepted abstracts may be included in conference materials and proceedings.

Poster Presentation Requirements +

At the time of submission, submitters may request either an in-person or virtual poster presentation.

Additional requirements include:

  • In-person posters will be presented during the FAC Poster Reception at the 2027 Female Athlete Conference (June 16–18, 2027).
  • Virtual posters will be available on demand from June 28–September 30, 2027.
  • One presenting author is permitted per poster.
  • Presenters are responsible for conference registration, travel, lodging, and related expenses.
  • If the presenting author is unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances, an alternate presenter may be approved by the FAC Scientific Committee.

Awards will be presented for the best in-person and virtual posters.
